Pixii App is the companion mobile application that is available to Pixii Camera users for configuring and remote controlling their camera.
Pixii App does not collect or manage any personal information. No personal data, including location data, is sent to our servers or shared with any third-party.
Pixii App offers an optional Geotagging feature, which you can enable from the app’s settings. When Geotagging is turned on, the app asks permission to share your phone’s position with your Pixii Camera, so that your phone location is added to photos taken with the camera.
On Android, the app additionally exposes a Background tracking setting, which requests the ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION permission. Background tracking lets your camera follow your location even while the app is closed or not in use. It is needed because a photo session typically involves long intervals during which the Pixii App is not the foreground application; without it, the phone would stop sharing its position the moment the app is backgrounded and photos taken in that state would not be geotagged.
Location data obtained through these permissions is used exclusively to share your phone’s position, over an encrypted local connection, with your own Pixii Camera. The data is never uploaded to Pixii SAS or to any third-party server, and is not used for advertising or analytics. You can turn Geotagging or Background tracking off at any time from the app’s settings, or revoke the corresponding permissions through your phone’s system settings.
